The worst part of living alone is having to wait until you absolutely can not keep your eyes open for one more second before falling asleep.
This eliminates excess time lying in bed paranoid and afraid of the dark.
I’ve locked every door and checked them twice — and opened all the closets and such. I do this out of habit. In my twisted head, I would rather catch someone hiding then have them surprise me while I’m asleep.
And I keep a hammer by my bed.
This is just silly. I’m “all growns up” now — I should be used to this.
I move out of here in one month and 10 days. I shall equip my next abode with an alarm.
Who wants to guess how many times I’ll probably set it off myself?
That was one of the perks about living together, eh? When you’d have the house to yourself, you’d be GLAD. *lol*

the old hammer by the bed
that is really odd, because just two weeks ago, i wrote about how i slept with a hammer besides my pillow, since the place i was staying had no interior lock on it… nothing beats the intruder repelling ability of the common hammer.
very few tools give you the feeling of power like a good sturdy hammer. i am surprised gladiators of old didnt use them…. of course the nail probably wasnt yet invented yet, but thats all splitting hairs.

aha… a deadly combination. blind them, them give them the old hammer on the head. if that doesnt do them in, grab a lighter and make the makeshift flame thrower.
